Best Buy is best known as one of the world’s largest (in terms of revenue and headcount) electronics retailers.

But it didn’t reach the top by sitting back and hoping for the best. It’s always on the attack, and this is proving true once again with its integration of generative AI.

Best Buy is enhancing its customer service by leveraging generative AI, thanks to a partnership with Google Cloud and Accenture. This initiative includes a new self-service support option, launching in late summer 2024, where customers can use an AI-powered virtual assistant to troubleshoot issues, manage subscriptions, and adjust order details. 

Additionally, Best Buy is equipping its customer care agents with AI tools that provide real-time conversation analysis, sentiment detection, and personalized recommendations, aiming to improve service quality and efficiency. 

Store employees will also benefit from a gen AI-powered assistant, streamlining access to company resources and product guides.

In short, this approach will help Best Buy remain at the forefront of retail innovation.
